Senior Firmware Engineer

Root.ai is seeking to make transformative changes in the way greenhouse-grown fruit is harvested. Our flagship product, Virgo, combines sophisticated robotics with advanced machine learning/computer vision techniques. We need your help designing the electronics to enable this vision.

We are looking for a senior-level Firmware/Electrical engineer. A candidate who has the right fit must believe in our mission, and be excited to work in a small, dynamic startup team in the agricultural robotics space.

You have:

Prior professional experience in firmware development, and writing C code for bare-metal embedded systems.
*
Prior experience in a crossfunctional research and development team.
*
Strong grasp of C programming, plus some supplementary scripting ability.
*
Comfort working closely with hardware at an electronics level. You should be ace with an oscilloscope, logic analyzer, and rework equipment.

We'd prefer candidates who have:
*
4+ years of professional experience.
*
Demonstrated product development experience; ideally with one shipped product.
*
Strong grasp of Python for scripting, and git for version control.
*
Experience designing circuit boards, as well as programming them.

We're particularly interested in you if you have experience with any of the following:

Motor Control
*
Data Acquisition/Signal Processing
*
Real Time Operating Systems (We use a mix of FreeRTOS and bare-metal. This role is mostly focused on bare metal. Plenty of room to grow into the RTOS space, however.)
*
GNU tooling/toolchains for ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers (We use MCUs from ST Micro.)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $101,845.00 - $124,477.00 per year

COVID-19 considerations:
