Job Description

Responsible for financial reporting and analysis including analyzing important variances among actual versus budget data and providing detailed explanations related to the underlying causes. Proactively work with Operations and other departments to analyze results and develop forecast metrics. Lead annual budget process.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


  • Responsible for supporting & closing the financials for an operating division.
  • Assist the organization in cost reduction and profit improvement initiatives including return on investment calculations for business cases.
  • Assist in the development of appropriate processes to ensure profit goals are achieved, including forecasting.
  • Recommend changes to reporting formats and information in order to provide better decision-making information.
  • Identifying key business metrics and developing appropriate monitoring tools, reporting deviations, and maintaining, developing and creating various financial reports.
  • Budgeting and forecasting responsibilities including:
    • leading the overall budget process
    • maintaining the consolidated budget file
    • actively coordinating and monitoring the preparation of budgets and their underlying assumptions.
  • Additional accounting related duties including:
    • Assisting with maintaining the accounting records of the organization
    • Assisting with month-end close processing including but not limited to such tasks as performing balance sheet account reconciliation and various analysis for possible adjusting or reclassifying journal entries
    • Assisting with preparation of required financial reports as required.
  • Mentor, coach, train, and assist in the development of other Financial Analysts.
  • Assisting in ERP consolidation, implementation, and system validations.
  • Assisting in tax audits as required.
  • Assisting in Governmental reporting as required.


Required Skills
  • Accounting/GAAP knowledge.
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Strong initiative and ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) in order to communicate with various levels of the organization.
  • The ability to complete projects both timely and accurately.


Required Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
  • CPA/MBA
  • 7+years of accounting experience in a for-profit distribution/manufacturing environment.
  • Previous experience developing a budget
