Job Description

Pinnacle Propane islooking for a Senior Financial Analyst to join our Corporate Finance team. This role will be fast paced and highly visible to the Executive Leadership Team. What makes this position unique is that there will be direct communication with key members of leadership team, operations, mergers & acquisitions, sales and more. In this role, you will gain a deep understanding of the financial statements, participate in the review of month-end data and compilation of the monthly report, preparation of the quarterly forecasts, monitoring performance versus forecast, as well as the opportunity to make a difference in the operations of the business through forming better processes and finding ways to increase profitability.

This position requires a candidate with strong communication and leadership skills. The finance team works closely with other departments, so any candidate should be able to work well with cross functional teams. The ideal candidate must have superior attention to detail, project management skills and the ability to successfully manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously. Strong analytical skills are required.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting the finance team in developing strategic plans, quarterly forecasts, and annual year plan process.
  • Monitoring budget consumption over planning periods and carrying out variance analyses.
  • Providing strategic support and advice to finance leaders as well as the Executive Leadership Team.
  • Carrying out monthly financial performance analyses and meeting with the leaders of the service centers over the results to ensure performance goals are being achieved.
  • Assisting with the compilation of the monthly report, including researching abnormalities in the monthly data, and working cross-functionally with other departments to gain knowledge about operational performance.
  • Tracking degree days, including using degree days to forecast future volumes and to determine the impact degree days have on the business performance in each month.
  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation by suggesting/implementing changes to current processes and strategies.
  • Responsible for submitting budget, forecast and monthly results into Hyperion Essbase, which is the main ERP system used at our company.
  • Be able to handle ad-hoc analyses from not only the leadership team, but also to support members from field operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • 3-5 years of finance or accounting related experience.
  • Advanced excel skills (charts, tables, slides, complex formulas), being excel certified is preferred.
  • Basic accounting knowledge (accruals, depreciation/amortization, etc)
  • CPA/CFA/MBA are desirable, but not required.

To be a great fit for the role:

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word experience as well as ERP systems for business transaction data, and sales database management systems.
  • SAP & Hyperion Essbase experience are preferred and will get seen first.
  • The ability to translate large amounts of data into useful information and actionable conclusions.
  • Strong organizational agility to enhance cross-functional communication and collaboration.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Understanding of financial transactions, terminology, concepts, and analysis methodology.
  • Excellent analytical skills with ability to source relevant data, create clear/concise decision models, interpret analytic results, and make recommendations/provide actionable insights.
  • Communicates well both verbally and in writing, shares information and ideas with others and demonstrates good listening skills.
  • Flexible to consistent change.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated, self-directed. Able to work independently.
  • Ability to work with confidential information and always maintain confidentiality.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
