Senior Financial AnalystPosition Overview
Be a leader in supporting Shaw’s Commercial organization as well as an integral partner and cross-departmental relationship builder to Corporate accounting, Legal and Corporate compensation by analyzing data, identifying financial challenges, assessing the impact of compensation plans, presenting solutions, supporting systems and managing strategic initiatives that impact people throughout the organization to improve strategic and tactical financial related decisions.
Primary Responsibilities :
- Manage projects to improve the tools used by the commercial sales and marketing leadership groups related to controlling and driving accountability for key metrics including expenses and returns. This will be done with little guidance needed and working across various areas and levels of the organization.
- Assist with the preparation of the business plan/budget process for the entire Commercial Division (domestic and international) and ensure the business plan is in alignment with the overall commercial goals, including Sales/Margin/Selling Expense levels.
- Facilitate and participate in driving financial business acumen throughout the commercial division.
- Develop and deliver performance management reporting/tools (including monthly scorecards reporting of key metrics for all Commercial SPCs/SPTs/senior management for measuring performance for business level performance, sales leadership and sales people.
- Using the most effective tools, plan, construct and deliver information solutions to support the Commercial Division—drive budgets and monthly reporting for all international reporting for the Commercial Division head of International operations.
- Assist with multiple complex projects and processes simultaneously, while executing on simplicity and consistency.
- Direct the preparation and distribution of sales performance reporting and T&E reporting.
- Assist in developing competitive business analysis and obtain market insights to maximize the Commercial Division’s profit potential in both the domestic and international markets.
- Continually identify and develop recommendations for improvements and solutions to compensation plans, systems, financial operations, data sources and information delivery with a focus on continuous innovation.
- Work with Business Users and offer advanced level support of the systems in your area of responsibility (TM1 or equivalent, T&E Reporting, Business Objects, Access, Tableau, salesforce.com, etc)
- Must be able to work with confidential data and safeguard as appropriate.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Bachelor’s Degree required in Accounting or Finance.
- Five years of related experience with strong financial/accounting/business acumen.
- Must possess advanced problem solving analytical skills and the ability to analyze and document problems and requirements that are understandable across all levels of the organization.
- Applies a systematic, fact based approach to understanding problems and taking responsible actions to resolve them.
- Advanced knowledge of information flows pertaining to budgeting, sales analysis and financial/pricing analysis.
- Skilled at the highly advanced level in use of software such as Microsoft Excel/spreadsheets including TM1, databases, report writers, and other analytic tools.
- Possesses strong organizational skills and time-management skills.
- Seeks opportunities for positive change and strives to maximize their benefit.

- General knowledge of international operations and international accounting principles is preferred.
