POSITION SUMMARY:

The ideal candidate will be intellectually curious, thrive in an entrepreneurial setting and want to be instrumental in building an excellent organization. The Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for supporting all aspects of the deal process including, but not limited to, underwriting, market analysis, coordination of due diligence, preparation of investment memorandums and executive-level presentations, and closing logistics.

Salary Range: $80,000 - $90,000/annual

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ability to perform and guide all Real Estate Analyst and Intern key responsibilities.
  • Analyzes and provides recommendations on potential projects and investment opportunities, as directed.
  • Authors the equity investment memorandums, finance offering memorandums, and investment committee presentations.
  • Establish and manage other proactive analytics such as peer group benchmarking, analysis of macro-economic trends, etc.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential target markets for new deal opportunities.
  • Supporting the hospitality team in the negotiation and closing of real estate investments.
  • Interacting with key investors, lending partners, third-party service providers and on-property management.
  • Performs due diligence and underwriting on non-development investment opportunities, as directed.
  • Develop strong intercompany relationships with other McWhinney departments.
  • Attends major hotel conferences, maintaining deep hospitality network connections, and stays actively involved with continuing education through industry reading and research.
. Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Real Estate Finance, Finance, Hospitality Management or related field
  • 1-3 years of experience in a real estate development, acquisitions, finance, or asset management role; preferably with a focus on hospitality.
  • Advanced understanding of financial statements with an ability to thoroughly analyze a hotel profit and loss statement.
  • The ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects and the capacity to be flexible.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft office suite, including excel.
  • Hotel operations experience is preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and writing.
