Job Description

Job Description Summary:

This position will be responsible for the maintenance, repair needs, and preventative maintenance on various types of machinery, equipment, and systems throughout Logan Health facilities and buildings.

Qualifications:

  • Must possess one (1) of the following:
    • Minimum of two (2) years’ post high school education or vocational training in mechanical or trades curriculum or related field.
    • Minimum of two (2) years’ recent on-the-job maintenance experience in a large building or complex.
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ boiler, HVAC, electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and/or plumbing experience preferred.
  • Possess and maintain computer skills to include working knowledge of Word, Outlook, and ability to learn other software as needed. Experience with facilities management systems preferred.
  • Experience troubleshooting and responding to customer concerns preferred.
  • Possess ability to work in a fast-paced environment, adapt to changing circumstances, multi-task with shifting priorities and maintain productively in a professional manner. Ability to be resourceful and work independently, as well as with a team.
  • Current Montana drivers’ license required. Must possess a good driving record clear of moving violations in the past five (5) years and no major driving offenses (DUI, etc.).
  • Must possess professional communication skills, and work effectively with a diverse customer and coworker population.

Job Duties:

  • Accurately and independently performs troubleshooting, installation, maintenance and repair on designated equipment and mechanical systems as assigned.
  • Maintains and repairs hospital beds per department procedure.
  • Performs electrical repairs up to 240 volts and control wiring.
  • Performs plumbing repair and installation on hot, cold and recirculating domestic water systems in accordance with applicable codes.
  • Maintains sewage systems, sump pumps and related controls.
  • Maintains commercial kitchen equipment to include, but not limited to; steam ovens, convection ovens, gas and electric grills, gas cook tops, garbage disposals, dish machines, and grease traps.
  • Maintains commercial laundry washers, dryers, lint collection systems and folding equipment.
  • Maintains and repairs refrigeration, freezer and icemaker equipment.
  • Proficient in welding on mild steel, aluminum, and stainless steel. Performs solder, silver solder and brazing.
  • Maintains and operates facilities computerized programs including, but not limited to; building automation systems, med gas alarm systems, fire control panel, etc.
  • Responsible for the ordering and managing of parts and cycle times per department procedure.
  • Accurately utilizes lock out/tag out procedures. Maintains and repairs equipment and mechanical systems in a safe, efficient and professional manner.

  • Maintains regular and consistent attendance at work as scheduled by department

leadership.

Work Environment:

Works in mechanical rooms, rooftops, grounds, and throughout entire facilities as required. Will be required to work in areas with extreme heat, severe cold, and burn hazards when necessary. Must work around electrical hazards. Must work from ladders and in high places. Must occasionally operate company vehicles to perform job duties.

Day Shift - 8 Hours (United States of America)

Please know schedules and shifts are subject to change based on patient care and department/organizational needs.

Schedule:

Must work varied shifts, as assigned. Twenty-four hour accountability is a condition of employment as assigned. Schedule will be adjusted to accommodate requirements of the position.
