Job Description
Overview: This role serves as a leader and is responsible for the design build test validation and implementation of the respective Epic application(s). This individual must have/develop broad knowledge of multiple iCare Applications data/work flow and clinical/business process to ensure the successful integration between practice and the relevant Epic application. The Sr analyst guides/coordinates analysts across multiple applications throughout the project life cycle (design implementation and long term support). As part of the implementation team this individual will provide expert and innovative solutions to end user requirements. This individual takes the initiative to research resolve and respond to inquiries during the deployment and on-going support phases of the project. The Sr. Analyst works closely with ( and may direct ) other Epic Application Analysts Sr. Application Analysts project managers Epic Team members and trainers to translate clinical and business needs into EMR functionality in a manner consistent with project timelines and budgets. The Sr. analyst must have excellent communication skills in sharing information with fellow team members as well as interacting with clinical operations and administrative staff. Key attention to detail and ability to respond professionally to urgent changes that impact Patient Safety Quality or other federal / regulatory requirements is required.The Sr. Analyst:-Leads cross functional teams in system configuration on-going maintenance / process improvement change documentation and training staff on application functionality.- Works independently when needed completing project task as part of the project implementation including building / testing of system components documentation of workflows building of data sets master files and reports leads quality assurance and integrated testing on new releases / upgrades.- Develops report specifications and works closely with reporting team to ensure operational and regulatory reporting needs are met including reports necessary to comply with Federal and Regulatory requirements (Meaningful Use CMS Sore Measures etc)- Receptive to business needs expressed by customers (Clinicians Providers Administration Operations) and clearly documents system capability and constraints.- Leads in-depth analysis of end user department workflows data collection and report details as related to the respective Epic application during the implementation and ongoing support.- Works with and may lead clinical business and IT constituents in a positive supportive and collaborative team manner.-Mentors junior level Application AnalystThe Sr. Analyst must be able to provide 24/7 on call support on a rotating basis for application issue resolution.
Qualifications: Education: Bachelors Degree Required or 12+ years of progressive Healthcare experience Relevant healthcare (hospital/medical center/integrated delivery system) experience may be substituted for degree requirements.
Experience: 5 years required progressive healthcare industry experience preferably in an Integrated Delivery Network in clinical care, operations or IT system support. 5 years preferred clinical Experience in one or more of the following areas: OR, Anesthesia, Emergency, Pharmacy, Oncology, OB/GYN, or IT experience in CPOE, Clinical Documentation OR Healthcare operations experience such as billing, scheduling, access services, health information management (HIM) OR In-depth knowledge of ambulatory physician and back office nursing and specialty department clinical documentation workflows, care planning, and patient education 7 years preferred progressive healthcare (Integrated Delivery System) experience in clinical or operations setting, IT system development or deployment, experience as a clinical analyst, business analyst, systems or financial analyst 3-5 years preferred Hands-on Epic clinical systems experience with appropriate Epic Training / certifications in at least one application area.
Certification: Relevant Epic Certification(s) to be obtained. Completion required as defined in Epic Implementation Timeline. Existing Epic Certification(s) in relevant application preferred.
