Job Summary
This position is responsible for: Overseeing hardware development for product, technology, package and assembly Reliability Qualification of pSemi’s diverse product portfolio.
The assigned projects will require the candidate to apply a wide range of experience in the area of semiconductor IC product qualifications hardware set-up. This role is responsible designing board hardware and test printed circuits that are suited for burn-in application. Also, overseeing timely execution and completion of these hardware for qualification purposes. This role is expected to provide training to the Reliability support group such as Reliability technicians.
The candidate will be expected to work with minimal supervision and build strong work relationships with other engineering groups. The candidate should also enjoy working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a sense of commitment and be flexible to project needs. The candidate must be a team player and possess a sense of urgency to meet product requirements on schedule.
Roles & Responsibilities
This position has responsibility for:
- Define Reliability qualification hardware requirements for new products, package, and process qualifications.
- Designs burn-in board and test interface printed circuits for qual use.
- Evaluate printed circuit board materials for Reliability use.
- Troubleshoot and debug of reliability burn-in hardware.
- Write procedures and technical reports.
- Mentor Reliability support team.

Minimum Qualifications (Experience and Skills)
- 5 years of experience in Reliability hardware (burn-in boards and printed circuit designs) or related experience.
- Knowledge of IPC standards for fabrication and assembly.
- Knowledge of printed circuit board material properties, including CTE, Dk, Df and Tg.
- Knowledge of component board surface mount process, including SMD and NSMD.
- Experience in Cadence Allegro.
- Experience in Cadence Allegro.
- Knowledge of semiconductor Reliability stress testing requirements e.g. Jedec, Automotive and Tier-1 customer standards.
- Must have strong hands-on experience working with lab equipment such a multi-meter (DMM), oscilloscope and power supplies.
- Program and time management skills.
- Result-oriented and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of advanced fabrication processes, including multi-lamination cycles, High Density Interconnect (HDI), micro and laser drilling.
- Knowledge in semiconductor substrate-based packaging and assembly.
- Knowledge in semiconductor burn-in oven/chambers.
- Knowledge in LabVIEW or LabWindows/CVI or equivalent automation software.
- Hands-on experience working with RF signal gens, RF power amplifiers, spectrum and network analyzers.
- Master’s degree.
Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
