Microchip’s Vectron group is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support the design of high reliability space quartz crystal oscillators. This individual will support engineering development by designing and launching new designs along with support of existing designs in production.


Responsibilities:
  • Candidate will work on electrical and mechanical design of high reliability crystal oscillators for integration into manufacturing
  • Design creation including circuit design, mechanical design, prototype evaluation, and creation of supporting documentation
  • Provide electrical design support to cross functional team members from layout, supply chain, process engineering, manufacturing and quality
  • Support quote activity for new designs by:
    • Developing new specifications with customers
    • Working closely with the Product Line Manager on new designs
  • Building and testing of compliant prototypes on schedule
Job Requirements
  • US Person
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or electronic technology
  • Minimum of 6.5 years design experience
  • Quartz crystal oscillator experience and knowledge of associated military specifications preferred
  • Knowledge of electronics theory, specifically analog and digital circuits and components used in rf signal generation and wave shaping
  • Ability to use electronic simulation software for the design of circuits
  • Basic knowledge of test equipment:
    • Environmental chambers, power supplies, oscilloscopes, frequency counters, spectrum analyzers, etc.
  • Self-driven to lead and complete projects within established commitment times
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Strong interpersonal skills to facilitate interaction with cross functional teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
