Job Duties: A Day in the Life
- Be Precise: Maintain source code for database and ETL projects. Ensure that projects build successfully in a continuous integration environment. Ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of in-house information systems that support core organizational functions.
- Balance: Creating and executing unit tests for developed code
- Unravel: Diagnose and resolve database performance issues
- Collaborate: Follow and improve development processes including but not limited to conducting peer/code reviews, complying with organizational standards, ensuring code maintainability, following build processes, implementing unit tests, and following other industry standard best practices. Work with third party vendors to ensure file transmissions run successfully and timely
- Support: Participate in database design and architecture to support application development projects. Design and preform server and security audits, system backup procedures and other recovery processes in accordance with NFM’s disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.
Qualifications: Can You Check These Boxes?
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
- 5+ years of experience working with Microsoft SQL Server with emphasis on database code and ETL development
- Database design skills including normalization
- Strong hands-on T-SQL development skills including stored procedure, function, and trigger creation
- Excellent query optimization and performance tuning skills
- Extensive experience developing ETL process using SSIS and Azure data factory
- Detailed analytical skills
- Structured troubleshooting skills
- SQL Server database development using Visual Studio
- Build and define test plans and/or test data in Visual Studio
- NoSQL database design and development is desired
- Experiences with Git, Azure DevOps and CI/CD Pipelines is desired
- Experience with Azure cloud services is a plus
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodology is preferred
