As Senior Construction Manager you will represent the owner’s interest by providing oversight over the project. Working with all stakeholders to deliver the project; on time, on budget, to the owner’s expected standard of quality, scope, and function.
Responsibilities:
- Reports to the Construction Manager (CM) through the Deputy Construction Manager for overall direction.
- Depending on the specific project’s needs, may serve as senior field advisor over multiple Resident Project Representatives (RPR) or may serve a more contract administrative function on a project, possibly in conjunction with another Senior Construction Manager assigned to that project on a part-time basis.
- Manage contract administration including; budget, risk management, quality assurance, scope, schedule monitoring, payment requisitions, submittal & request for information (RFI) processes and prepare project closeout documents.
- Keep all stakeholders informed throughout the entire project. Report work progress and budget matters to clients.
- Coordinate, implement, and execute all project documents and procedures in a project administration database.
- Monitors submittals, RFI, and initiates most change management processes (change orders and contract modifications).
- Communicates with the Program Management Team’s Project Manager.
- Monitors compliance with the Construction Management Contractor Health and Safety Plan.
- Reviews Contractor’s schedule for compliance with milestones and completion date and coordinates with Construction Schedule Lead for delivery of comments and tracking of responses.
- Facilitate and lead (or assist RPR) project meetings while documenting for the project team.
- Monitors quality assurance (QA) activities of field staff.
- Respond to work delays, emergencies, and other problems.
- Understand project site logistics, specifications, geotechnical report, drawings, environmental studies, Erosion & Sedimentation Control plans, building codes, licensing requirements.
- Work in construction field office, manage and assign tasks to direct reports including administration operations and RPR’s.
- Participate and assist in hiring team members including; interviewing, annual performance reviews, and discipline.
- Reviews and approves daily reports.
- Coordinate commissioning requirements.
Job Requirements:
- High School diploma (GED) with 12+ years of job-related experience or an Associate's degree in Construction Management or like degree with 10+ years of relevant experience is required.
- Minimum of 12 years' experience in construction management, construction/inspection experience on a wide variety of commercial and municipal projects preferred.
- Prefer experience in rehabilitation construction methods and water/wastewater facilities construction, including pump stations, sanitary sewer piping, and water main replacement.
- Licenses/Registrations/Certifications a plus: This position will require participation in certification and training courses post-hire as required by OSHA or client-specific requirements (First Aid/CPR and OSHA 30).
