Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Sr Business Intelligence Analyst will be responsible for managing, maintaining and transforming large quantities of data into end-user friendly interfaces and visualizations. The Sr Analyst will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing and maintaining scaled, automated, user-friendly systems, reports and dashboards that support business needs. Incumbent will help shape the direction of business reporting and ensure BI best practices and resources are effectively used throughout the organization. The Sr Analyst will be a team lead taking on additional responsibilities inclusive of training, special projects and interacting with various levels of management throughout the organization.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leverage a wide range of data from various sources, integrating vast information to build standard reports and using ad hoc queries to provide analytics and business intelligence
  • Work with business partners and stakeholders to design and create data models, Tableau dashboards, visualizations and other reporting solutions that meet business reporting and analytical objectives
  • Oversee large data-related projects, collaborating with cross-functional departments to develop and implement improved reporting and data processes that will steer the business into the future
  • Manage the store and associate level reporting that will feed the new store incentive programs
  • Build strong partnership and collaboration with stakeholders across the organization, consulting with them to understand goals, challenges, process and data sources, ultimately translating business needs into technical requirements
  • Take ownership of existing BI platforms and maintain data integrity and accuracy
  • Ensure that existing reports and dashboards are well understood and effectively leveraged
  • Provide guidance, training, and problem-solving assistance to business partners on analytic solutions
  • Teach business users how to interpret results and use dashboards to improve performance; Communicate technical topics to non-technical audience
  • Direct, organize and lead BI projects, developing work plans, timelines and reviews to manage the project
  • Collaborate with IT partners to comprehensively understand data sources and BI environments
  • Analyze complex business problems, assess how technology may solve them and recommend solutions (new software, updated software, new hardware, etc)
  • Identify new and robust sources of data and plan technical solutions for on-boarding
  • Provide consulting support on all data-related solutions (program design, report design, data feed design, data aggregation, etc)
  • Manage multiple projects and proactively communicate issues, priorities, and objectives
  • Triage business partners inquiries, track issues, research and analyze data flows and relationships, develop technical solutions (break-fixes, enhancements), and apply high standard of quality assurance
  • Train and on-board new members of the BI team to ensure quality of work is sustained
  • Additional duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for supervising multiple projects

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Computer Science, MIS or other related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key accountabilities of the job required
  • 5+ years relevant business experience preferred
  • Advanced Excel and coding skills preferred
  • Experience with Tableau, Power BI or other data visualization tools, SQL or other relational databases and R, Python or other coding languages preferred
  • Knowledge and experience with database concepts and data models
  • Working knowledge of retail business, including aspects of promotion, pricing, merchandising, retail operations and financial operations
  • High degree of proficiency MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications
  • Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning)
  • Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts
  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as internal and external clients
  • Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work with and influence peers and senior management
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting
