Job Description

Cognizant Technology Solutions is searching for a Senior Associate of Reporting and Accounting Policy. This position is part of the North American Global Controller’s Group and reports directly to the Director of External Reporting and Accounting Policy.

Location: Tri-state Area(NJ/NY/CT)

Experience requirement: 3-4 years, CPA required. Public accounting firm experience required.

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with preparation of our Form 10-Qs, Form 10-Ks and other SEC filings;
  • Work on XBRL tagging related to out SEC filings
  • Perform initial research and drafts of technical accounting memos / whitepapers for US GAAP;
  • Assist in monitoring SEC and FASB initiatives, including new ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) reporting. Perform sensitivity analysis as to how new developments may impact the current business and financial statements;
  • Assist with accounting for our investment portfolio;
  • Provide support for the accounting and documentation of our hedging program; and
  • Perform additional analysis and support special projects on an as needed basis.

This position will report to the Director of External Reporting and Accounting Policy and have significant interaction with other senior management within the Controller’s group in the US and Worldwide, including the Senior Vice President/Global Controller.

Education/Certifications

  • BA or BS degree and CPA required.

Previous Work Experience

  • At least three years in public accounting. Experience working for US public companies and/or large international clients is a plus.
  • Strong analytic abilities, written skills, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent people skills, working successfully in a team context with co-workers and senior management.
  • High attention to detail.

Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

A successful candidate will be highly self-motivated and driven to perform at the peak of his or her abilities. A successful candidate must also be proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Critical thinking, flexibility, professionalism and adaptability are a must.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $[80K – 90K] depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
