Job Description

Reporting to the VP, Alumni Relations & Executive Director, OSUAA, the Sr Associate Executive Director, Experience plays a pivotal leadership role in developing and delivering a holistic array of meaningful. and measurable engagement opportunities for alumni and friends. The Sr. Associate Executive Director, Experience, is one of two Sr. Associate Executive Directors and will serve as a member of the Association’s leadership team and as a member of the Foundation’s Leadership Team.

Work Location

The work location for this position is the CH2M Hill Alumni Center in Corvallis or Portland Foundation Office. Initially and through the duration of the current pandemic, all positions are remotely located.

Measures of Success
  • Effectively manage the program teams, and ensure they have annual plans and meet their measurable goals
  • Launch and manage the community management and community ambassadors' program
  • Expand the engagement capabilities of the program teams through enhanced service design and delivery and integrate with new focus on digital engagement and community management
  • Scale programs to successfully deliver meaningful and measurable return on engagement (ROE) outcomes
Major Duties

Organize programs and activities in accordance with the mission and goals of the Foundation and the OSUAA.

Manage to long term strategic priorities and goals, consistent with the vision of a realigned alumni and friends experience unit, and supportive of OSU’s defined aspirational engagement outcomes.

Develop a budget and operating plan for experience, which integrates service design, delivery, digital engagement and community management.

Supervise, lead and develop staff, provide regular performance feedback and coaching, develop annual plans with measurable outcomes, conduct performance reviews, develop annual budget.

Oversee the design and delivery of an aspirational (pristine, fun, inspirational, outcome-based) user experience, for in-person, which will always include an option for digital participation, and digital only settings.

Reposition and manage staff workflows of service design and delivery in order to unify the comprehensive alumni experience and enhance focus on priority outcomes.

Create and manage the full facilitation of a new digital alumni engagement function, comprised of online community management, social listening, and social ambassadors to seamlessly inform and amplify service design, service delivery functions and ensure goals are met in areas including customer satisfaction, safety, quality and team member performance.

Scale programs to successfully deliver meaningful and measurable return on engagement (ROE) outcomes.

Effectively interact and report with internal and external stakeholders, including campus and community partners, volunteers and donors, executives, colleagues and staff regarding project strategies, updates, and implementation.

Create an environment oriented to trust, open communication, creative thinking, and cohesive team effort to drive high standards with a kind and collaborative style.

Actively promote and ensure inclusive and diverse programming.

Focus on research and evaluation, with an emphasis on digital engagement trends and measurable results.

Represent the organization professionally and enthusiastically and expands the reach of the organization across the OSU network.

Analyze program risks and develops and implements appropriate remedies.

Perform other duties assigned.

PHYSICAL WORK REQUIREMENTS include the ability to stand, sit, talk, hear and use hands and fingers using technical devices; use close vision to do pc work; work effectively with moderate office noise; maintain regular, predictable office attendance and / work remotely, as permitted; occasionally work on weekends, after business operating hours and under strict deadlines; engage in regular and ongoing contact with others (face-to-face, by telephone, online video conference call or otherwise); travel by various modes of transportation occasionally requiring overnight and/or weekend stays.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree and eight years of experience leading the development and implementation of an engagement program focused on community building through digital strategies. Experience and educational equivalencies considered.
