Job Description: DLZ Corporation currently has exciting opportunity for a licensed Architect to lead a group of Architects and Project Managers in Detroit, Michigan.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES_*
- Focus would be to lead group in development of Architectural projects involving renovations or new construction.
- Overseeing programming, design development, development of construction documents and construction administration.
- Oversee financial performance of the group.
- Periodically assigned role of Project Manager or lead in major segments of design projects where complex, multi-faceted, and coordinated work is required; directing assigned personnel, meeting cost and time schedules and producing quality results are primary objectives.
- Perform review for compliance with codes and standards.
- Direct and manage Architects, Designers and Project Managers reporting to this position.
- Maintain budget guidelines and profitability.
- Improve business development within the firm's business development program.
- Prepare scope of work, cost proposals and contracts for potential work.
- Prepare workload projections and manage financial performance of the department.
- Perform Quality Control reviews for facility design projects.
- Perform architectural and design assignments of a complex nature, applying innovative architectural design concepts and advanced professional knowledge.
- Conduct complex feasibility and operating studies aimed at evaluating alternative systems and methods.
- Coordinate client contact and maintain working relationships with existing and potential clients.
- Responsible for preparation and review of proposals and contracts.
- Ensure contractual commitments are met and work is being performed according to the client's instructions.
- Ensure consistency and high quality in all work produced by the Department.
- Initiate and maintain contacts with key professionals and officials of other organizations and companies.
- Perform all work in a safe and responsible manner, in accordance with the Health and Safety Plan.
- Possess an aptitude to act as a positive representative of the company and its core values.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Degree in Architecture is required
- Registered Architect in the state of MI required
- 15 years of progressively responsible experience in architecture
- Municipal, Judicial, Educational, Transit, and Federal project experience is preferred.
- Working experience with REVIT
- Strong written and oral presentation skills
- Experience in a variety of project types, scale, and complexity; following projects from conception through completion.
- Experience working on concurrent projects, collaborating with multiple design disciplines, and technical production project experience.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Software
- Working knowledge and application of building codes and design standards required
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and practice proactive time-management.
- Ability to visit and safely traverse construction and project sites and complying with all applicable safety codes and requirements.
