Job Description
Job summary: The Red Hat North America Telco Solutions Architecture team is looking for a Senior Application Deployment Solutions Architect to join us to work with our top telco and cable customers. In this role, you will apply your expertise in container, virtualization, and management and orchestration technologies to help Red Hat’s customers derive business value from their Red Hat Platform environments. You’ll work with our customers to recognize their current and desired state of container adoption. Your ultimate success will be determined by helping customers reach their desired state. You’ll need to have deep technical expertise, passion for open source, a thorough understanding of business processes, and the ability to identify and create business solutions at the enterprise level. As a Senior Application Deployment Solutions Architect, you will specialize in Red Hat’s container, virtualization, and application development technologies, architectures, and solutions in public, private, and hybrid cloud environments.Primary job responsibilities:

- Educate customers on best practices for the use of Red Hat technology, addressing complex requirements, designing value-driven architectures, and explaining the value of these solutions
- Gain deep understanding of customers’ business and IT environments and serve as an advocate for customer priorities with business teams
- Guide adoption and consumption of Red Hat technology in line with customer metrics
- Gain and develop an understanding of the customer current state architectures, key metrics, workloads, development environments, and lines-of-business concerns; coordinate with partners and Red Hat Consulting
- Work with customers to survey their application portfolios for items that could deploy on Red Hat platforms including Red Hat OpenShift
- Maintain a catalog of potential Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform workloads by using the cumulative experience and knowledge from working with other customers
- Identify, realize, and lead customer events, promoting visibility and demand and assisting customers in getting workloads onto Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform
- Provide updates on new Red Hat OpenShift capabilities, roadmaps, best practices, and training materials
- Become an onsite and virtual Red Hat member on customer teams
- Help customers evolve from thinking about Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform as infrastructure to business value
- 5+ years of experience in enterprise application architecture with development skills; experience in sales is a plus
- Extensive knowledge of enterprise container architectures and solutions, Red Hat OpenShift and competitive solutions, Linux, and deploying and running container solutions in private, public, and hybrid clouds
- Experience with agile frameworks and transformation with deep knowledge of development tools and continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD) processes
- Ability to have conversations at multiple levels of customer organizations, including DevOps, architects, developers, and infrastructure
- Experience with a digital transformation effort as part of consulting or as a customer
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with a record of developing relationships at technical, management, and executive levels
- Willingness to travel up to 50%
- Past experience working with telco and multiple-system operators (MSOs) with an understanding of use cases for network and operational support system (OSS) or business support system (BSS) is a plus
- Experience with Java development technologies like Spring Boot, WildFly Swarm, or JEE, including Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform, WildFly, Oracle WebLogic, or IBM WebSphere is a plus
- Familiarity with Java development frameworks like Spring, Netflix OSS, Eclipse Vert.x, or Play and other technologies like Node.js, Ruby, PHP, Go, or .NET development is a plus
