Job Description

Crest Industries is currently looking for a Senior Accountant to join their team in Pineville, Louisiana. The Senior Accountant is responsible for a variety of accounting and finance duties. The Senior Accountant’s primary areas of focus include, but not limited to, budgeting, general ledger, inventory, month-end close, financial statement preparations, financial information systems and supporting Business Unit accountants. Senior Accountants have advanced accounting experience, more complex assignments and increasing levels of responsibility.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • General Ledger: journal entries, balance sheet, account reconciliation, variance analysis, month-end close, financial statement preparation, consolidations; understand accruals and allocations
  • Inventory: assists with cycle counts; reconcile book to physical counts; checking valuation
  • Financial Information Systems: gain an in-depth understanding of how systems operate and interact with one another; find methods to leverage systems through automation; perform data mining and analysis; support Business Unit accountants and other Accounting & Finance team members to understand data; create and generate reports
  • Supporting Business Unit accountants: gain an understanding of business unit financial statements, assist Business Unit accountants with month end close, reconciliations and special projects
  • Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivables: general understanding of the accounts payable and accounts receivable process
  • Fixed Assets: understands policies and impacts on business units; dispose of assets appropriately; understands capitalization policy; post assets to subledger
  • Treasury: gain familiarity with daily banking and reconciliation, analyzing, and reporting on cash transactions and balances
  • Budgets/Financial Analytics: supports Business Unit accountants in developing and maintaining budgets and forecasts; provide support for budget related projects and follow-up as needed

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university required
  • 5 plus years of accounting or equivalent experience required
  • Proficient using Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Operate on a high ethical plane and maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to prioritize and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Eye for detail; accuracy is imperative
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
