About the roleThis role provides an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic business and develop a comprehensive understanding of the month end close and reporting process. This role will collaborate with a variety of areas within finance such as trade promotions, procure-to-pay, and general accounting. This role will also partner cross-functionally with other teams in the US market such as sales, marketing, and operations, and will have visibility and exposure to our international operations.

- Perform month end close for the US Market to prescribed deadlines with no material misstatements.
- Collaborate with Sales Finance and Sales teams to ensure timely and accurate postings of promotional spend.
- Prepare journal entries for current month promotions, volume-based agreements, % based accruals, and other rebates.
- Partner with AR deduction team to process AR action forms and update accrued customer program schedule.
- Safeguard Dyson financials via application of accounting policies and guidelines.
- Maintain strong internal control environment and implement process improvements.
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations to a high standard and in line with deadlines.
- Provide understanding of performance drivers for the month and follow up as required, investigating all variances and issues.
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders in the markets.
- Support shared service organization with finance and accounting operations and escalations.
- Assist with year-end external audit requirements.
- Work at the same pace as Dyson, understanding any changes impacting FCoE and effectively addressing / embedding them in a timely manner.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 3+ years of qualifying accounting, finance, or audit work experience
- Ability to organize and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills
- Advanced IT skills – Microsoft Excel, SAP, OneStream
- Proactive approach with great problem-solving skills
- Highly motivated to achieve results
- Proactively highlights and progresses solutions for issues identified
- Team player capable of working effectively with finance and non-finance managers
