Hellas Construction located in Austin, Texas is looking to fill a Senior Accountant role within our finance and accounting division. If you are located in NW Austin and interested in working for a large sports construction company, we want to hear from you!
Assist the Accounting and Finance Team in operational and transactional accounting functions.
Roles and Responsibilities:
· Assists in monthly close processes including the preparation of journal entries
· Assists Finance Team with daily accounting activities
· Updates Financial Schedules such as debt and depreciation
· Processes inter-company accounts payable and payroll billings
· Assists with preparation and distribution of monthly financial reporting packages
· Manages inventory control, including tracking, data entry and reviewing inventory transactions
· Provide periodic overload assistance and special project investigation as directed
· Participate in internal and external audits, including ad-hoc requests
· Review of the Sales and Use Tax Returns for all entities
· Performs basic accounting for several subsidiaries and affiliated companies
· Processes and reviews staff accountant’s entries for inter-company transactions of fixed assets, equipment leases, cash collection, and warranties
· Prepares and/or reviews leasing reports for review by upper management
· Prepares and/or reviews special reports and analysis as requested by management
· Randomly audits workflow to assure that all accounting transactions are appropriately authorized
· Prepares balance sheet reconciliations for core business entities
· Supervises 3 staff accountants
This position will need to become proficient and effective with the company’s construction accounting software.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) in accounting with at least 3+ years’ experience
· CPA preferred
· Intermediate to advanced experience with MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint
· Construction/project or manufacturing accounting experience required
· Strong analytical skills; ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and make sound recommendations
· GAAP, FASB, accrual base accounting, job cost accounting, organizational auditing and fixed asset accounting
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
