Job Description
Overview: We are seeking a highly professional and organized Self-Pay Representative with outstanding customer service and communication skills. The Self-Pay Representative is responsible for collection and resolution of outstanding Self Pay Accounts Receivable balances for services rendered to patients.Responsibilities:
  • Meet daily call center target of 70 calls per day with an abandonment rate of less than 7%
  • Reduce outstanding Self Pay Accounts Receivable balances through focused daily efforts to increase cash collections and reduce bad debt
  • Make daily calls to patients/financial responsible parties to follow-up on unpaid Self Pay invoices
  • Obtain updated demographic and/or insurance information and verify new insurance coverage on insurance websites prior to rebilling charges
  • Accurately and clearly document all interactions with patient, responsible party, or insurance representative on the patient account in the billing system
  • Meet or exceed daily collection call production goals
  • Process return mail in a timely manner following return mail guidelines
  • Must have working knowledge of insurance billing and medical terminology in order to assist the patient in understanding their bill and appropriately answer any questions
  • Assists with various other duties and/or projects as needed
Qualifications:EDUCATION
  • High School Diploma or GED required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
  • 1-3 years in a medical or physician office setting preferred
  • Call Center experience preferred
  • Experience in healthcare billing, collections or eligibility/insurance verification preferred
Certifications & Licenses: NA
Technology Applications: Computer savvy with ability to navigate between multiple systems simultaneously. Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
Works in well-lit, ventilated and climate-controlled office environment with routine office equipment; some equipment has moving mechanical parts. Noise level in the work environment is typical for an office and/or medical clinic environment.
