The Security Manager is responsible for coordinating and managing security operations by participating in the observation activity to help safeguard Maverick Gaming assets and provide a safe environment for guests and team members. Ensures adherence to all regulatory agencies, Internal Control Standards, departmental and company and policies and procedures. Supports and maintains the Maverick Gaming Service Standards at all times, while promoting outstanding guest relations. Must be 21 years of age or older.

How You'll Succeed

In this role you will:

  • Create an atmosphere that encourages guests to make Maverick Gaming their choice for gaming entertainment; responsible for actively building and retaining guest relations and act as a mentor to team members in order to provide superior guest service.
  • Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of the Security department and Maverick Gaming company matters.
  • Supervise the security of casino operations, guests, team members, drops and monetary transactions.
  • Maintain constant surveillance throughout the casino, watching for irregularities or illegal gaming devices; Immediately report suspicious or unusual activities.
  • Interact and communicate with other department managers, Maverick Gaming, and all other regulatory personnel when necessary.
  • Oversee department personnel including hiring, disciplinary actions, and performance evaluations.
  • Oversee schedules and assignments; maintain files and reports prepared for Security, as needed, to implement gaming operations.
  • Oversee training of Security employees and establish internal policies and procedures for the staff.
  • Oversee Security investigations of all types.
  • Assist and prepare department operating budget, monitor progress and take action on budget variance items.
  • Perform the duties of a Security Officer as required.
  • Attend and participate in meetings, completing follow-up as assigned.
  • Perform work regularly and predictably.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
. Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you should have previous Security experience and knowledge that includes:

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of supervisory or management experience required.
  • Minimum of 5 year(s) of gaming experience and 1-2 year(s) of casino security experience preferred.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Must obtain a Nevada Gaming card.
  • Must obtain and maintain valid licenses/certifications per Federal, State and Gaming regulations.
  • Must be able to work holidays and weekends, as well as flexible shifts and/or unusual hours.
  • Prior experience in security industry required.
  • Knowledge of a 24-hour, 7 day a week gaming operation.
  • Knowledge of industry’s most sophisticated surveillance equipment, knowledge of gaming industry and normal trends in losses.
  • Ability to recognize and monitor suspicious activities of team members and guests.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to sustain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Ability to remain calm in emergency or stressful situations.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service and maintain a professional demeanor.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize.

WORKING CONDITIONS: This position typically works a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
