Job Description
Job Summary: Aptive is seeking an Administrative Security Coordinator to oversee cradle to grave personnel security clearance processing requirements for new hires and current employees working on Federal contracts.
In this position, you’ll work with a variety of team members to ensure incoming and existing employees are able to obtain necessary security clearances. You will guide employees through various security processes for our Federal clients, including providing them with clear instructions, answering questions, requesting edits and corrections, coordinating online training requirements and tracking and reporting their progress through the security process.
You’ll also develop relationships with our partners, Federal clients and Contracting Officer Representatives (CORs) to facilitate personnel security processing, delivering complete and error-free security clearance packages to the respective CORs and communicating additional requirements to the employees. This role will need you to manage employee security offboarding, which will include responsibilities such as collecting PIV badges or CACs and communicating transitions to CORs and other stakeholders.
To be successful in this position, a high attention to detail and a knack for communicating complicated and occasionally confusing information will be key. You’ll be encouraged to find avenues and platforms for automation and streamlining, so an ease with O365 is vital and an interest or familiarity with digital programs and platforms is preferred.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Identify and track various security processing requirements.
- Communicate and coordinate clearance requirements.
- QA/QC documents for accuracy and completion; request edits and corrections as required; submit documents to the appropriate Government point of contact.
- Track and report multi-stage clearance progress from entry to exit.
- 3 to 7 years of professional experience in human resources, personnel security, contracts or business operations.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Experience processing security clearances for Cabinet-level federal agencies, ideally the Department of Veterans Affairs.
- Ability to work remote/telework.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance up to TS-SCI.
- Preferred working knowledge of Government clearance and security requirements; experience or exposure to AFSO/FSO duties.
- Exceptionally keen eye for detail and superior organization.
- Above average time management skills with the ability to efficiently manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced work environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, listening, problem-solving, interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Demonstrated maturity, integrity and the ability to perform in an entrepreneurial environment, both individually and as a team player.
