Being a Seasonal-Summer Behavioral Health Technician for our Respite program has its advantages!
  • Pay rate starts at $14.25/hr.+ ($12.25 base pay rate + $2.00 shift differential Friday - Sunday 3:00pm - 11:00pm)! *Base pay rate DOE!
  • Earn an additional $.25 for every 500 hours worked! (limit of 1 increase per quarter; up to $16/hr.) *Must remain in positive standing with the organization to receive increase
  • PLUS, an end-of-assignment bonus!
  • Shift Schedules: Monday-Wednesday, 7am-8pm or Tuesday-Thursday, 7am-8pm

Located in Scottsdale, Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health Arizona’s Respite program provides temporary rest or relief. The goal of respite care is to successfully provide an interval of rest for clients and their primary caregivers without disruption or compromise to their home environments. Through the Respite program, the kids get to enjoy group activities and go on field trips to museums, roller skating, and more! In this role you will actively assist the clients in the participation, involvement and routine of the Respite program. Having an energetic and creative approach while working with our kids, showing compassion and being a problem-solver to create a safe environment. The goal of respite care is to successfully provide an interval of rest for clients and their primary caregivers without disruption or compromise to their home environments. Both forms of Devereux respite require a referral from the child’s behavioral health network.
As a Behavioral Health Technician, you will protect the health and safety of clients while supervising and implementing program activities and managing client’s behaviors. Read and implement each client’s individualized treatment plan. Assist in planning programming and is an active team member in carrying out treatment goals. Participate as a member of the Respite Team and maintain a team environment.

Qualifications:
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Previous experience working with children/adolescents with behavioral/emotional needs required (6 weeks+)
  • Valid Arizona Driver's License & pass DMV 39-month history check
  • Current AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card with no restrictions (or eligibility to obtain with no restrictions)
  • Pre-employment Physical and Job Demand Assessment (if applicable)
  • Drug test within 24hrs of offer w/ negative results.
  • Attend full time, paid, New Hire Orientation Monday-Friday 8:30am-5pm
