THE POSITION

Join the Anoka County Parks Department and experience an opportunity like no other! Seasonal Golf Course Workers are responsible for enhancing the Chomonix golf course experience through assistance, information and education regarding the golf course. Seasonal Golf Course Workers play an integral role in providing the public the best possible experience, equipment and advice on the golf course. The Seasonal Golf Course Workers are representatives of Chomonix and are expected to provide the highest quality of customer service for all course users.

Spend your days helping operations run smoothly at one of Anoka County's premiere golf courses, Chomonix! The golf course has openings for Seasonal Starter Rangers and Clubhouse Attendants. Come have some fun and work at one of the most beautiful courses in the North Metro!

The employment period for seasonal golf course positions is spring through fall seasons.

EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES (ILLUSTRATIVE ONLY)

SEASONAL STARTER RANGER
Seasonal Starter Rangers enjoy working outdoors assisting golf patrons with inquiries that may arise while on the course. Starter Rangers help ensure that golfers have the best experience possible while utilizing Chomonix golf course.

Duties and Responsibilities:
These examples are not all inclusive and are intended to be illustrative of primary responsibilities of an Anoka County Seasonal Starter Ranger.

  • Provide golf education and direction to players to ensure efficient play.
  • Assist with golf cart set-up and rotation, clubhouse and golf course daily logistics.
  • Assist in routine cleaning and maintenance of the clubhouse.
  • Maintain effective communication between clubhouse staff and golf course users.
  • Assist with driving range logistics and upkeep.
  • Other duties as assigned.
SEASONAL CLUBHOUSE ATTENDANT
Seasonal Clubhouse Attendants enjoy working in a variety of capacities at Chomonix golf course. From assisting patrons with reserving their tee times to jumping on a golf cart to deliver beverages to a group of players, each day is fun and filled with new experiences.

Duties and Responsibilities:
These examples are not all inclusive and are intended to be illustrative of primary responsibilities of an Anoka County Seasonal Clubhouse Attendant.
  • Provide assistance to customers, golfers, and banquet room guests.
  • Conduct payment transactions and pro shop merchandise sales.
  • Reserve tee times, assist with tournament coordination, food preparation and special events.
  • Communicate established policies, rules and golf course etiquette.
  • Assist in routine cleaning and maintenance of the clubhouse.

REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Qualifications: (Required)

  • Must be at least 16 years of age on or before April 1, 2021.
  • Previous customer service experience.
  • Basic understanding of the game of golf.
  • Previous cash handling experience (Clubhouse Attendant).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous golf course work experience.
  • Beverage cart experience (Clubhouse Attendant – must be 18 years of age).
  • Current American Red Cross CPR/AED, First Aid Certifications.
  • Previous retail, hospitality or golf course operations experience.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
  • General customer service skills.
  • General math and accounting skills (Clubhouse Attendant).
  • Work as a team player and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Work varied shifts including early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
Work Environment:
  • The Starter Ranger will spend 95% of the time outside on the golf course, in a variety of weather conditions, and 5% indoors at the clubhouse.
  • The Clubhouse Attendant will spend 95% of the time indoors at the clubhouse and 5% outside on the golf course, in a variety of weather conditions.

GRADE LEVEL

Salary:
$10.08 per hour - Starter Ranger.
$10.08 - $12.00 per hour - Clubhouse Attendant.

Hours:
Hours vary. Work schedule is primarily 20-40 hours per week based on supervisor discretion. Night, weekend and holiday hours will be required.

Selection Process:

The examination/selection process for this classification will consist of a review of your training and experience from the application materials submitted. The most qualified candidates will be invited for an oral exam and/or interview.
