The Chomonix Golf Course is offering an exciting employment opportunity! As the First Assistant Golf Professional you will enjoy learning while working alongside our Golf Operations Manager in a variety of capacities within the pro shop. This position will be responsible for managing food and beverage inventories, scheduling and coordinating golf tournaments and overseeing banquet room events. Learning and developing strong customer service and supervisory skills will prove to be a major asset while in this role and will remain with you throughout your career. The employment period for this seasonal golf course position is March through September.
This seasonal position is located at the Chomonix Golf Course in Lino Lakes.

EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES (ILLUSTRATIVE ONLY)Duties and Responsibilities:
These examples are not all inclusive and are intended to be illustrative of primary responsibilities of a First Assistant Golf Professional.
- Provide assistance to customers including golfers and banquet room guests.
- Conduct payment transactions and increase pro shop merchandise sales.
- Reserve tee times, assist with tournament coordination, food preparation and special events.
- Relay established policies, rules and golf course etiquette.
- Process vendor orders and inventory re-sale items.
- Hire, schedule and evaluate seasonal Clubhouse Attendants and outdoor services.
- Assist in routine cleaning and maintenance of the Clubhouse.
Minimum Qualifications: (required)
- 18 years of age or older by first day of employment.
- High school diploma.
- Previous golf course or customer service experience.
- Cash handling experience with a point-of-sale (POS) system.
- One year experience supervising employees.
- Successfully pass criminal history background check.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Enrolled in an accredited golf management program.
- Previous retail, hospitality or golf course operations experience or Professional Golfers' Association (PGA) member or apprentice.
- Hold or ability to obtain American Red Cross CPR/AED, First Aid Certifications.
- Hold or ability to obtain Food Safety Managers Certificate.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- General customer service.
- General math and accounting.
- Work as a team player and be a positive leader.
- Work in a fast-paced environment.
- Work varied shifts including early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
Work Environment:
- The First Assistant Golf Professional will spend 75% of their time indoors at the Clubhouse, and 25% outside on the golf course in a variety of weather conditions. This position will report directly to the Golf Operations Manager and will be responsible for Clubhouse operations, seasonal staff supervision and administration responsibilities during scheduled shifts during the week.
Salary:
$13.00 to $15.00 per hour.
Hours:
Hours vary. Work schedule is 40 hours per week based on Golf Operation Managers discretion. Night, weekend and holiday hours will be required.
Selection Process:
The examination/selection process for this classification will consist of a review of your training and experience from the application materials submitted. The most qualified candidates will be invited for an oral exam and/or interview.
