Job Title: Director of Floor Operations Reports to: Vice President of Supply Chain Pay Class: Full-Time Pay Type: Salary (Exempt)Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee the overall safety, employee engagement, collaboration, quality performance and customer experience of the distribution center operations.
- Develop robust, trusting relationships with key stakeholders and senior leadership, and identify opportunity to improve the distribution center operations
- Lead and build a team of high-performing managers & supervisors. Engage team to positively support the company’s goals and objectives. Manage and effect change through continual feedback and coaching.
- Monitor and drive key performance metrics to ensure that we are providing an excellent customer experience.
- Drives continuous improvement projects to optimize operations and improve productivity to meet and exceed business objectives; works on strategic projects that have total building impact.
- Effectively leverages department leaders to solicit ideas and understand problems and challenges in the building.
- Sets clear goals and expectations for department leaders. Measures performance, provides feedback, and holds leaders accountable.
- Participates in recruiting to identify and evaluate associates and internal/external candidates for promotion and hire.
- Works closely with support staff (HR, Maintenance, Safety, IT and other leaders) to build and secure support and resources for projects and initiatives.
- Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with effective communication and thorough follow through.
- Regularly communicate performance trends and improvements to the organization.
Job Specifications and Qualifications
- 5+ years in distribution center leadership position strongly preferred.
- Proven ability as a passionate people-centric leader who can effectively drive results in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively across functions and synthesize multiple points of view into a streamlined action plan.
- Organized, meticulous and detail-oriented.
- Experience working with a WMS (warehouse management system)
- Tenacious and resilient in the face of adversity and change.
- Able to hit the ground running; a confident, entrepreneurial self-starter with the ability to manage and prioritize projects to delegate tasks appropriately.
- Analytical ability necessary to gather and interpret data to further develop, recommend and implement solutions.
