What You’ll Do:
Team Oriented & Collaborative
- Possess enthusiasm, compassion, and a desire to work with at-risk youth
- Participate in all program meetings in a manner that supports effective student-centered and program-wide practices.
- Collaborate at a high and frequent level with program colleagues in order to provide a cohesive experience for students through co-teaching, coordination of curriculum, or alignment in student skill development as determined by team.
- Align teaching practices and approaches with program colleagues to promote the development of social, emotional, behavioral and executive functioning skills.
- Carry out general program-related duties including data collection and supervision of program students in program areas.
- Provide after school time at least one day a week “day back” to support students who need additional instruction, support or make-up work.
- Work under the general supervision of the building principal, Program supervisor and or other designated administrators.
Skilled & Responsive to Student Needs
- Develop STEM lessons based on Project Lead the Way curriculum grades 6-8
- Implement research-based district curriculum that employs a hands-on approach and challenges students appropriately.
- Use and modify district curriculum and other appropriate learning activities to meet the needs of at-risk students.
- Evaluate each students’ progress and providing frequent feedback
- Demonstrating an in-depth knowledge of content, methods, and principles of effective instruction.
- Learn and carry out basic data collection practices in the classroom to monitor student growth across all areas: academic, social, emotional, and behavioral.
- Create, modify, or alter curriculum as necessary to support student progress as determined by data, and/or input from program coordinator, curriculum coach, and supervisor.
- Collaborate effectively with program colleagues and those with expertise in modifying instruction for English language learners and students with disabilities, to identify strategies that promote the success of all students in the classroom.
- Collaborate effectively with specialists, instructional coaches, administrators and parents to foster positive social, emotional and academic development.

- Learn and implement classroom management strategies to maintain positive classroom environments, avoid power-struggles, and provide opportunities for social-emotional growth.
- Promote the learning and growth of all students through effective partnerships with families and caregivers.
- Promote the learning and growth of all students through instructional practices that establish high expectations, create a safe and effective classroom environment, and demonstrate cultural proficiency.

Job Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred
Required Massachusetts teaching certification/licensure in Mathematics 5-8 and a Science 5-8
Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) Endorsement required
Second language proficiency in Spanish or Portuguese, preferred
Experience working in an urban public school or charter school setting preferred
Able and willing to work in a remote or hybrid (remote and face-to-face) model, if needed
Current authorization to work in the United States
