Science of Guinness World Records – Science CommunicatorGreater Sudbury, ON P3E 2E2, Canada Thunder Bay, ON, Canada Virtual Req #44
The Science of Guinness World Records, one of Science North’s travelling exhibits will be touring Northern Ontario and will require two Science Communicators working out of select community hubs to deliver our unique brand of hands-on science, engaging visitors from the community and supporting Science North initiatives.
The Science of Guinness World Records (SGWR) engages visitors of all ages in real science experiences and record-breaking challenges. Visitors will learn that anyone, anywhere can be a record holder while using science to develop their record-breaking skills and abilities.
The exhibit will make the first of these multi-week stops in Sault Ste. Marie and Thunder Bay this summer.
Position highlights:
In addition to the above skills, successful candidates must be comfortable with public presentations, working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple priorities. Training will take place in Sault Ste. Marie (accommodation and expenses covered where applicable). The successful candidates will have the ability to work full-time hours with some evening/weekend work. This is a contract position from May 1st to September 6th, 2021 @ $17.69/hour. The position requires a valid driver’s license reflecting a 3-year safe driving record.

- Deliver quality, educational and informal science experiences related to the customized version of the Science of Guinness World Records travelling exhibit.
- Actively champion and promote the SGWR exhibit and other Science North programs
- Work with a variety of audiences
- Support the hosting partner attractions to deliver quality Science North informal science experiences.
- Fluency in English & French
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Excellent time management skills
