School Speech Language Pathologist (SLP)
Arizona’s first and only autism-focused charter school is expanding and seeking Speech Language Pathologists to support the new state of the art autism center. We have positions available at our Phoenix Campuses (Kindergarten - 12th Grade) and our new West Valley Campus in Peoria (Grades K-3).
Under the supervision and direction of the Lead Speech Language Pathologist; the SLP will be responsible for:
- Implement student engagement strategies
- Move students toward progress on goals
- Write and implement individualized communication goals
- Engage in data-driven instruction
- Implement Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) strategies
Duties:
- Supervise 2 SLPAs with the implementation of speech and language service in the classroom.
- Write and attend IEP meetings as the SLP service coordinator for a caseload of 75-90 students.
- Evaluate students in the area of speech and language as determined by the MET team.
- Implement communication goals identified on student IEPs
- Follow school-wide systems, rules and positive behavior interventions
- Deliver services in a classroom integration model
- Coach classroom staff and SLPAs on implementation of speech/communication goals
- Communicate effectively and proactively with students and families
- Responsible for paperwork compliance with an assigned office day
- Accountability for growth and proficiency on IEP goals
- Participate in annual and ongoing staff training

Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Coaches, monitors, and mentors Speech-Language Pathology Assistants working with students with disabilities.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology preferred
- Experience delivering services in a school setting in a classroom integration model preferred
- Ability to approach situations with optimism and perseverance
- Excellent verbal, written and organizational skills
- Experience and training in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) preferred
Required:
- Arizona IVP Fingerprint clearance card
- Valid Speech-Language Pathology License
- ADE Speech-Language Pathology Certification
ADA AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Positions in this class require: stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
Light Work:
Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
Working Conditions:
Work is routinely performed in an indoor classroom environment.
