Scale House Operator

Arcosa Aggregates is hiring for the position of Scale House Clerk who is a self-motivated individual. The scale house operator is responsible for helping maintain the day-to-day operations associated with weighing contractor haul trucks. This position requires a dependable, detail-oriented individual able to maintain a high tempo environment.

Functions/Duties:

• Maybe required to run street sweeper as needed (will train the right person)
• Provide prompt and courteous service to customers.
• Ensure trucks are properly positioned on scale for accurate weights.
• Operate computer to process proper charges to be assigned for each load of material and generate charge ticket on the printer.
• Accurately perform routine data entry into a computer and make accurate basic mathematical calculations.
• Answer scale house telephone and respond to public's questions.
• Ensure that no truck leave the location over its weight limit.
• General cleanliness of scale house.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and stay organized
• Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
• Meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
• Previous scale house experience desired.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

• Typical work schedule consists of daytime hours Monday through Friday, but may be required to work overtime, early morning shift start times and/or weekends.
• Must be able to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods of time and bend and lift up to 40 pounds.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment
