Sawmill Worker

Ware Butler is looking for several new hires to work in our sawmill in Gorham. This position will include working in the yard on forklifts, as well. Safety and team work is required. This position reports to the Yard Manager.

Sawmill Responsibilities:

• Follow all company policies and safety standards.
• Assist pick-up customers in the yard in a prompt, professional manner.
• Pick quality merchandise for delivery customers and build delivery loads.
• Contribute efforts to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work space.
• Reports damage to equipment, inventory, and facility to immediate supervisor the day it occurs.
• Stock materials as needed.
• Perform tasks deemed necessary by supervisory staff.

Sawmill Requirements:

• Sawmill experience required.
• Forklift experience preferred.
• Ability to read, understand, and act upon written language.
• Ability to perform basic math, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Ability to repeatedly lift objects up to 80 lbs.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and twist repeatedly throughout the workday.

Sawmill Working Conditions:

This position is performed in an open warehouse and out in the elements. The Sawmill/Yard Worker will be subjected to high heat, rain, snow and cold.
