A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A 2ND SHIFT SAW OPERATOR/MATERIAL HANDLER
As a Saw Operator/Material Handler, you are the first step in all of our manufacturing processes. You cut raw steel into blanks that is then used to create prefabricated parts that go onto our machines. You work with tight tolerances and do very precise work. Our customers count on your precision parts going into each of our products. You set up and operate your machine, producing parts according to prints and job specifications. When not operating a saw, you will move material with a forklift from inventory or work center to work center.
Being attentive to detail, you inspect parts with precision instruments. You take pride in your work and feel good about contributing to the manufacturing of useful items that benefit people all over the world!
QUALIFICATIONS FOR A 1ST SHIFT CNC MACHINIST
- Related work experience
- Ability to use and read a tape measure, precision instruments and prints
- Understanding of basic math concepts
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, bills of material, and setup sheets
- Ability to use a wide variety of tools
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand, bend, twist, and be on your feet for an entire shift
Completion of a technical or trade school is preferred but multiple factors will be taken into consideration. Are you dependable and reliable? Do you have a strong mechanical aptitude? Can you follow both verbal and written instructions effectively? Are you flexible and willing to change work assignments frequently? Can you work well both independently and as part of a team? 1ST SHIFT WORK SCHEDULE
This full-time machine operator job works the 1st Shift Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm. Training takes place on the 1st shift for 2-4 weeks.
