Job Description

The SAP Solution Manager and Monitoring Lead will be accountable for the strategy, implementation and maintenance of SAP Solution Manager and E2E monitoring solutions for the SAP ecosystem globally. In addition, the person with work on SAP CharM to ensure all the transport management activities work with minimal impact to project and business and will be the SME of Solution Manager (Monitoring, Charm, Focused Run, Wily) and any other required integrations. The role will play a strategic role to set project standards, governance, adoption of best practices in system monitoring, testing, and documentation.


This individual will work closely with technical and functional teams to gather requirements and work with partners on the installation/support of the overall monitoring solution. This resource’s participation will be key from pursuit/estimation to deployment/hyper care for SAP Solution Manager support and monitoring solution.

What can you do for Cree | Wolfspeed?

  • Provide support with strategy and roadmap for our SAP Solution Manager and general SAP application lifecycle management (ALM)
  • Configure best practice SAP Solution Manager SAP system monitoring and alerting, including early watch reports and automated monitoring
  • Configure Solution Manager ChaRM for transport management and provide consulting on SAP change request processes
  • Configure SAP Solution Manager for document and configuration management
  • Drive SAP Solution Manager system upgrade and support SAP implementation projects
  • Work with team members on SAP Basis related tasks around performance monitoring, performance tuning, test automation and others
  • Hands on setup, configuration, and maintenance of SAP Solution Manager 7.2
  • Prior Cloud experience involving SAP S/4 HANA experience is preferred
  • Prior experience with SAP S/4 Platform and at least working knowledge with multiple SAP S/4 Modules (e.g. SAP Finance, SAP S/4 WMS, SAP S/4 Supply Chain & Logistics, SAP CPI)
  • Project leadership and ownership is desirable
  • Experience with prior SAP S/4 HANA implementation involving Data Migration/Data conversion
  • A solid understanding of key IT trends and willingness to learn new technology
  • Work with Support to troubleshoot issues and maintain smooth operation and performance of the platform.
  • Handle changes or emergency transports as needed for high priority issues;
  • Work self-directed and independently; may act as subject matter mentor to more junior members

Skills and Certifications:

  • Undergraduate Degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • 3-5 years’ experience setting up SAP Solution Manager for SAP ECC, S/4 HANA, or HANA systems
  • Experience with SAP S/4 HANA Cloud environment (1909+ version)
  • Have done at least 2 different SAP Solution Manager implementations including one upgrade
  • Minimum 2 years general SAP Basis experience
  • SAP S/4HANA certifications preferred
  • Experience with SAP implementation, administration, and development languages (e.g. Activate, BASIS, ABAP, etc.)
  • A holistic understanding of the entire business lifecycle, including Sales, Marketing, Order Entry, Manufacturing, Logistics, and Distribution
  • Experience and proven ability to communicate (verbally and written) effectively with internal and external business customers, IT stakeholders, and executive leadership
  • An energetic, hands-on, enthusiastic, results-oriented leader, capable of adding significant value to the existing team.
  • Experience in process definition and control definitions based on industry best practices
  • Knowledge on the RICEFW objects and experience drafting functional & technical specifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a full cycle implementation as well as in support projects.
  • 5 years of overall IT experience and a record of success supporting a fast-paced business organization, providing technical expertise, while applying best practices and leveraging core SAP platform capabilities.
  • Flexible in collaboration with virtual global team via cyber-meeting outside of office hours regularly.
  • Understanding of relational databases (Microsoft SQL, Oracle) preferred.
