Job Description
Master Data Lead is responsible for creation, maintenance and reporting of SAP master data, for both The Tile Shop and Superior business units, based at Plymouth, MN. Acts as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for high quality and integrity of all aspects of Master Data including; Material Master, Bills of Material, Info Record, Source Lists and Pricing etc.
Essential Functions
- Ensures SAP have complete, accurate, and timely material master data, bills of materials, purchase info record, source list, cost calculation with different conversions, and POS pricing.
- Gathers new SKU data and ensure it is accurately loaded to SAP and clearly communicated throughout the organization.
- Supports continuous improvements to different aspects in SAP MM, Planning Modules, and POS. Conducts data cleansing and validation activities regularly.
- Receives, priorities and executes mass data update requests through MASS, LSMW or Z programs based on business needs.
- Develops an understanding of company products to better assist with reporting and the translation of the product line into master data. Serves as a “go-to” person for all matters related to material and its purchasing & retail related master data in SAP.
- Provides timely support to supply chain department and other cross-functional business partners in daily operation and projects. Understands the impact of master data changes across functions, and ensure all are updated and communicated appropriately.
- Assists in attributes creation & maintenance, material extension to new plants, material status update, vendor master and initial MRP parameters setup.
- Works within the business to ensure the consistency and integrity of master data elements including the ability to troubleshoot minor issues with the processes or tools in a timely and collaborative manner.
- Responsible for developing and optimizing processes for master data governance & quality.
- Establishes, measures and continuously improve performance metrics and controls. Serves as department lead for root cause, corrective action initiatives and process improvement.
- Supports knowledge sharing within the team and with cross-functional business partners if needed, keeping documentation, processes and procedures up to date.
- Enhances and updates documentation of existing data standards as needed/directed.
- Prepares other ad hoc management reports as requested.
- Performs other related duties as required
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Information Technology.
- 2+ Years advanced SAP Master Data experience.
- Advanced knowledge of SAP, Microsoft (Excel, Access) & Outlook.
- Experience and working knowledge of Data Systems and Data Warehousing is an asset.
- Cross-functional business knowledge (Supply Chain/Production/Finance/Sales) a plus.
