SMITH is searching for an SAP Configure, Price, Quote (CPQ) expert to help lead the design and implementation of scalable and engaging CPQ and eCommerce solutions for clients.

As a Functional Architect at SMITH, you’ll be counted on to do a few things. You’ll translate customer’s complex business requirements into technical features and functionality and assist with implementations. You’ll be a technical thought leader and authority within the organization and a team player with exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills.

The Functional Architect will play a significant role on our team, driving the team for delivery, verifing all scope is covered in the documentation, pointing out out-of-scope items and raising issues and risks. This role will interact with the client and other members of the development and User Experience disciplines, including Full-Stack Developers, QA, Business Analysts, Creative Designers and Program Managers.

What you’ll do

• Assist Business Analysts with the translation of the customer’s business requirements to the technical features and functionality needed for the project or program
• Helps guide the customer to a solution that follows best practices and is most advantageous for their business
• Participate in requirements gathering workshops/sessions and the creation of discovery presentations
• Assist the team with the creation of epics and project documentation
• Participate in the project implementation
• Help ensure team members are performing their tasks well and assisting as needed
• Raise risks and issues as needed
• Verify that all scope is being covered in the documentation and points out requested items that are out of scope
• Assist the Project Manager hold the customer team accountable for their deliverables
• Work with the customer, Solution Architects, platform Technical Architects, Project Managers, Business Analysts, and other Developers to deliver a success project
• Configure and debug features and functionality requiring a moderate skill level

• Identifies new opportunities for their client and develops innovative ideas for account
• Participates in developing supporting proposal materials for pursuits with new clients
• Participates in scoping and planning work
• Write technical documentation (admin guides), white papers, presentations, and contributes to determining internal processes, as needed
• Keep an eye on the product road and changes in industry trends

What you bring

• Knowledge of native SAP CPQ integrations
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot difficult issues
• Demonstrated ability to spot gaps in requirements and design
• Demonstrated ability to translate customer business requirements to design solutions
• Demonstrated ability to think high-level at the overall solution as well as be able to figure out specific design features for SAP CPQ
• Demonstrated ability to lead a team to successfully complete all documentation and requirements gathering
• Demonstrated ability to use or bring in additional resources to assist the team, as needed
• Demonstrated ability to shift between a functional and a technical focus depending on the project need and/or the type of project
• Knowledge of how SAP CPQ can be customized
• Knowledge of SAP Responsive Design and best practices
• Understanding of the SAP architecture and roadmap and uses that information to determine the right solution
• Demonstrated ability to work closely with the client as a trusted advisor
• Strong attention to detail
• Strong written & oral communication as well as presentation skills

• 4+ years overall CPQ experience with 2+ years being in SAP CPQ
• Multiple years of demonstrated experience successfully gathering customer requirements
