Job Description
Richelieu Foods, Inc. a leading national private label and contract packing food manufacturer focused on frozen pizza, salad dressing, and BBQ sauce product categories is seeking a 3rd Shift Sanitation Supervisor. This person will be responsible for safety during the cleaning activities, training of the sanitation team and compliance to food safety and cleaning expectations.
Essential Functions
Responsible for effective sanitation of the various plant equipment and departments.
Must be able to follow equipment cleaning instructions as listed in the Sanitation Procedures Manual.
Promotes safe work behaviors in other employees and acts as safety team leader.
Provides assistance and direction to sanitation employees to maximize labor utilization and manage chemical costs.
Must become familiar with cleaning chemicals by name, function, and usage rate.
Must be able to work in a fast paced environment.
Must be detail oriented and be able to work independently.
Must be able to pass fork lift exam and be able to properly operate a fork lift and related equipment.
Responsible for compliance with GMP’s, proper sanitation, and housekeeping in area.
Responsible for use of required safety equipment and complying with proper safety procedures including wearing proper protective clothing/rain suit, steal toed boots and safety googles/face shield at all required times.
Desired Qualifications
Experience using a variety of equipment including a power washer.
Previous sanitation experience.
Competencies
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written required.
Strong organizational skills required.
Ability to lead and be consistent with team members
The ability to identify, define, and solve problems, and to coach sanitation employees to do the same.
Strong initiative and the ability to work with others to achieve desired results. A sense of accountability for results.
Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance procedures a variety of instructions, diagrams or schedules.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee will work regularly in wet and slippery conditions. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
