Panera Fresh Dough Facility. At our Panera Bread Fresh Dough Facility, we make the fresh bread, bagels, and rolls that are then delivered fresh to our local bakery-cafes, 7 days a week.
The Sanitation team is primarily responsible to sanitize and clean the facility and production equipment according to Panera’s procedures. Sanitation associates may perform basic equipment breakdowns, moving, and lifting of production equipment and machinery in specific work areas and our fresh dough processing facility.
Day shift and night shift positions are available. Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manually clean equipment; including rinsing, foaming, scrubbing, and sanitizing production equipment.
- Disassemble and assemble processing and packaging equipment, scrubbing, sanitizing, and re-assembly of the same equipment
- Operate and maintain floor scrubber.
- Operate high-pressure water hose.
- Pick up and properly dispose of trash and recycling.
- Utilize lockout/tag-out procedures and follow all safety guidelines.
- Responsible for cleaning, sanitation, and sweeping of all relevant areas.
- Utilize the proper soaps and sanitizers and adhere to Company safety regulations.
- Cleaning of restrooms, lunchrooms, and offices.
- Complete Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, and Yearly cleaning assignments
- Report food safety issues to the Sanitation Lead or Supervisor
- Must be able to read and follow instructions in English for chemical usage and cleaning specifications as set by the company.
- Weigh and record wastes
- Follow GMP’s, regulations, company policies, and procedures.
- Ability to maintain accurate and current records for cleaning of equipment
- Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to read English and comprehend chemical labels or Materials Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) to learn how to properly handle and mix chemicals used in the facility.
- Ability to learn and understand the SOP’s, SSOP’s and Inspection Regulations in English.
- Ability to work with others in a fast-paced team environment.
- Lift, push and pull up to 50lbs on occasion or continuously for 8 hours or more during a shift.
- Stand, crouch, bend, climb stairs/steps, ladders and walk on wet surfaces on occasion or continuously for 8 or more hours during a shift.
- Communicate effectively to co-workers, managers, quality assurance personnel, and government inspectors.
- Excellent manual dexterity; Strong physical endurance; Ability to stand for long periods,
- Must have the ability to use basic tools (wrenches, screwdrivers, etc.)
- Effectively understand and follow a variety of guidelines and work procedures (including health, safety, hygiene, and sanitation), alongside prioritizing and organizing workload
- Must be available for OT if needed.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Sanitation associates spend almost all their time on their feet on wet slippery surfaces and have frequent exposure to undesirable elements including: loud noises, vibrations, wet humid environment, varying temperature changes from hot-to cold to freezing depending on work area. Sanitation associates are expected to lift up to 50 lbs. or more on occasion and sometimes continuously throughout the shift.
