There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Sandblaster without more than normal supervision. Perform common Sandblaster tasks including cleaning metal parts of various equipment; preparing for blasting by masking or covering; and setting controls and regulating the amount of abrasive material flows through a sandblasting nozzle. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
To meet the basic eligibility, you must receive at least two points on the screen-out element indicated above and must have an average of two points on all the job elements listed below. - PHYSICAL EFFORT Work assignments involve prolonged standing, stooping, and bending, with some walking. Lifts, carries, and sets up equipment and components weighing up to 75 lbs. Controls blasting hose with nozzles subject to high pressure, i.e. up to 100 psi.
- WORKING CONDITIONS Work is performed inside booth which may be extremely hot during summer months. Is exposed to noise, dust, and flying abrasive material. Must wear protective suit (supplied with air while being used) at all times. Be on the alert for malfunctions to sandblast and safety equipment.
This job does not have an education qualification requirement.
