Job Description

Overview: A Kolter Hospitality Sales Manager works with management throughout the hotel and the Company. They deliver service excellence to guests and customers by listening to their needs, analyzing information, and creating tailored proposals in a pleasant and professional manner. This position is responsible for negotiating and closing sales while exceeding sales targets.

Performance Expectations:

  • Solicit, negotiate and confirm new and repeat business through various efforts to maximize revenues to meet/exceed goals.
  • Research competing hotels, prospect and network to surface business.
  • Prepare proposals tailored to address and impress the client.
  • Conduct site visits.
  • Identify and secure business to fit the yield strategy.
  • Attain/exceed sales goals and profitability.
  • Follow up with clients after each function to ensure satisfaction.
  • Develop and implement creative sales strategy by analyzing historical, current and future hotel/market/account trends.
  • Prepare, implement and compile data for the strategic sales plan, monthly reports, annual goals,
  • Develop business relationships which could result in additional sales and new clients.
  • Communicate accurate information for in house groups to assist operations in servicing them properly.
  • Professionally represent the hotel in community and industry organizations and events.
  • Keep abreast of budgeted revenue goals and develop action plans to achieve goals.
  • Ensure all guest checks, payments, master folios and advance deposits are submitted to accounting.
  • Report any items in need of repair.
  • Follow all safety procedures while working.

Requirements

General Requirements:

Report to work on time and in professional attire.

Knowledge and/or ability to operate a computer.

Experience: Two (2) or more years of sales in a hotel or related field preferred.

Education: None. Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, marketing, or business a plus.

Physical Requirements:

Mostly sedentary work with ability to provide site tours on occasion.
