Legend Homes Internship Overview

Legend Homes offers a competitive internship program in the build-to-sell, single-family homes, and townhomes industry in Texas. Our internship offers a variety of disciplines across the business designed to provide a practical work experience and development opportunities for students that wants exposure in the Texas real estate industry.

We are seeking motivated and talented individuals to assist with the daily operations of the business, special projects, and various assignments. This is a ten-week paid-internship program that will run from September to November with a minimum of 1-2 days in an office setting per week. The goal of this program is to help further develop your communication, leadership, and professional skills while gaining valuable real-world experience in an office work environment for a dynamic organization.

As an Intern, you will work closely with a Department Lead who will provide you with hands-on projects and daily tasks to help you become career ready. Legend Homes is dedicated to developing successful and well-rounded leaders, and we strive to make this Internship as realistic and informative as possible.

The Internship Program will also provide all Legend Homes Interns with various opportunities for professional development, including:

  • Lunch & Learns with Executives Speakers
  • Resume Training Workshop
  • Interview Skills Training & Mock Interview Practice
  • Final Internship Business Development Project & Presentation

The Final Project would cover a business development area of growth for Legend Homes or recommendations for a specific area of the business selected by the executive management team.

Job Description

Job Title: Sales Intern Department: Sales
Reports to:
Vice President of Sales and Marketing Status: Intern
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Attend Grand Opening Meetings, meet with each department to map all the tasks necessary for opening a new community. Define all the tasks and make recommendations on which department and position should be responsible for the tasks. Intern should be prepared to present this process outline at the conclusion of their internship.
  • Work to create an easy-to-understand catalog of each photo of each floorplan. Ensure the catalog is easy for everyone in the division to access
  • Work to create a catalog of all videos on each floorplan as well.
  • Research MLS listings and put together a how-to document that gives salespeople advice on how to take pics, how to describe floorplans, etc.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Efficient verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail oriented and well organized
  • Ability to work in a team environment and own the whole for the team
  • Motivated self-starter, capable of taking charge
  • Proficient with computer systems and fast learner
  • Ability to read blueprints, including plan modification
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and a strong customer-focused demeanor with demanding clientele.
  • Excellent time management skills, detail-orientation and ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills, along with advanced conflict resolution skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills and proficient in English. Must be able to articulate needs and convey information verbally and in writing effectively with employees, customers, supervisors, and co-workers throughout the organization.
  • Knowledge of management methods and sound employee relations techniques with an ability to connect to staff, troubleshoot problems and help teams collaborate, as necessary.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
  • Ability to travel the greater Houston area is required.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk or working on a computer
  • Must be able to traverse and inspect all areas of home site and home in all types of weather; this may include walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, or stretching
Education and Experience:
  • Enrolled and currently attending an Associate Degree program, 2-year program, Community College, or 4-year program at a college or university.
