Safety/Environmental Coordinator
Job Summary: Salaried, exempt, non-commissioned, non-supervisory This position is responsible for worker safety and health programs aimed at eliminating the potential for workplace injury and death. This position will also be responsible for the overall compliance with local, state, and federal environmental and workplace safety regulations including, but not limited to, RCRA, EPCRA, OSHA, NFPA, and the Clean Air and Water Act Reports to HR Manager with support from Telford EHS Manager

Job Summary: Salaried, exempt, non-commissioned, non-supervisory This position is responsible for worker safety and health programs aimed at eliminating the potential for workplace injury and death. This position will also be responsible for the overall compliance with local, state, and federal environmental and workplace safety regulations including, but not limited to, RCRA, EPCRA, OSHA, NFPA, and the Clean Air and Water Act Reports to HR Manager with support from Telford EHS Manager
Responsibilities:
- Lead and support safety initiatives and processes to enable an incident-free workplace
- Develop and implement safety plans while ensuring they are being followed as scheduled
- Lead safety teams and conduct team meetings; control safety action items to ensre completion
- Champion the Near Miss and STOP Observation programs
- Conduct daily safety walks through the facility to locate issues that need to be addressed
- Train employees on all safety standards and expectations along with safe machine operation
- Develop and conduct monthly safety training on safety-related matters
- Provide recommendations and solutions to the leadership team for improving
- safety
- Lead the investigation of accidents and incidents that occur onsite
- Create and maintain safety procedure documentation
- Serve as a member of the facility’s emergency response team
- Ensure proper PPE usage throughout the facility
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (Industrial Safety/Hygiene, Chemistry, Environmental/Earth Science, Environmental engineering) preferred
- 3-5 years experience preferred
- Professional accreditation (CSP, CHMM, QEP, CIH, CFPS) preferred
- Excellent organizational skills
- Experience working with the regulatory enforcement community
- Ability to speak publicly and possess good training skills
- Computer literacy a must
- Ability to read, understand, and communicate information presented in Material Safety Data Sheets
