Position Overview
Elevate Textiles is looking for a Safety Coordinator to work as part of the A&E division at its two manufacturing operations in Gastonia, NC. As Safety Coordinator, you would work as part of the manufacturing teams to lead initiatives related to achieving plant safety objectives and compliance with all OSHA requirements and plant safety policies and procedures.

Position Overview
Elevate Textiles is looking for a Safety Coordinator to work as part of the A&E division at its two manufacturing operations in Gastonia, NC. As Safety Coordinator, you would work as part of the manufacturing teams to lead initiatives related to achieving plant safety objectives and compliance with all OSHA requirements and plant safety policies and procedures.
Primary Responsibilities
- Maintain compliance with all health and safety policies and procedures for the plants
- Create and maintain Job Safety Analysis and ensure current training for each employee.
- Coach employees to recognize job hazards and how to eliminate through safe work methods. Conduct employee awareness training.
- Present safety information and training to new employees.
- Work closely with training to create and maintain safety training programs and incorporate into job training packages.
- Administer safety programs including Lockout/Tagout, Hazard Communications, Forklift Certification and other OSHA required programs.
- Lead plant safety teams and coordinate inspections and completion of follow up items identified.
- Serve as point of contact for all scheduled and unscheduled governmental inspections, corporate safety audits and other safety requests as needed.
- Lead accident investigations and risk mitigation audits. Coordinate any follow-up actions.
- Perform all required safety reporting and analysis, including preventive activities and programs.
Qualifications
- 3 or more years proven experience in leading safety programs in a manufacturing or related environment
- Bachelor or Associate degree preferred but not required with appropriate experience.
- Knowledge of OSHA requirements and experienced in leading compliance programs.
- Proficient with Excel and ability to analyze safety data
- Demonstrated success in motivating safe behavior and engaging employees.
