Rotating Machinery Services, Inc. (RMS) is seeking a qualified Rotor Assembly Technician . The Rotor Assembly Technician will Assemble components in accordance with procedures, drawings, work instructions, and specifications. It is critical to have experience using calipers, gauges, micrometers & other measuring tools to determine the condition of components and assemblies. The Rotor Assembly Technician is also expected to generate inspection reports as required and assist with documenting quality issues and solutions.
- Maintain a safe working environment and a commitment to safety excellence.
- Responsible for understanding and complying with the safety policy, procedures, and
instructions - Assemble components in accordance with procedures, drawings, work instructions, and
specifications. - Perform precision balancing on components and assemblies to specified requirements.
- Use calipers, gauges, micrometers & other measuring tools to determine the condition of
components and assemblies. - Assemble various configurations of components to corresponding assembly prints utilizing
available tooling, gauging and equipment. - Generate inspection reports as required and assist with documenting quality issues and
solutions. - Maintaining a clean and organized work area.
- Ability to understand assembly and manufacturing prints
- Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the company’s discretion.
- At least two years of experience working in an industrial or machine shop setting preferred.
- Minimum of two years of experience with component assembly and dynamic balancing.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability and willingness to work overtime, weekends and holidays, as required.
- Ability and willingness to work in an environment of constant pushing, pulling, lifting, stretching,
bending and other physical activities. - Ability and willingness to be in the shop environment a minimum of 8 hours per day, primarily
standing and sitting, as required. - Ability and willingness to work around and use large propane / acetylene torches.
- Ability to operate small lifts, pallet jacks and other lifting equipment (training will be provided on
our specific equipment, but basic skills are required beforehand). - Basic oral and written communication skills.
- Basic computer and math skills.
