This is a supervisory position involving responsibility for managing a nursing unit at the County Home and Infirmary during an assigned shift of duty. Incumbents will also provide professional nursing services requiring specialized judgment and skills, and will coordinate individual patient care. Work is performed under general supervision with leeway for independently performing most duties of the position. Supervision is exercised over professional and licensed practical nurses, nursing assistants, and other staff assigned to the unit. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Graduation from a school of nursing approved by the State Education Department from a course approved by such department as qualifying for Registered Professional Nurse. Possession of a license issued by the State of New York to practice as a Registered Nurse is required at the time of appointment. Salary: $65,260.00 Please note that this position is a competitive class position which is subject to civil service examination.
