Job Description

The Administrative Coordinator is a registered professional nurse who is administratively responsible for the efficient coordination of patient care activities. AC’s are responsible for the delivery of safe, customer-focused, efficient care during their shift, in accordance with nationally accepted
standards of nursing care and practice, and monitors standards established by the Joint Commission and other regulatory bodies. Responsible to support, teach, encourage all clinical staff, and monitor patient care. Will keep the nursing managers or department directors informed of any
issues that need to be resolved.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Directs all nursing staff on assigned shift for all units. Assigns personnel to units including the float pool, companion pool, floating and furlough
of staff.
2. Provides guidance, supervision, direction and assistance to nursing personnel
3. Works with staff to resolve problems concerning nursing care issues.
4. Uses proper judgment in controlling cost.
5. Monitor ED throughput to ensure timely bed placement.
6. Collaborate with nurse managers and/or charge nurses to assist in bed management.

Minimum Requirements:
Education:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required or in pursuit of. Master's degree - preferred

Related Work Experience:
3-5 years’ experience in a Hospital setting is required.
More than 5 years experience preferred.

License, Certification or Registration Requirement:
  • Active Registered Nurse license in the state of New Jersey
  • Basic Life Support Certificate for HealthCare providers (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certificate (ACLS) preferred
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support Certificate (PALS) preferred
