Job Description
Overview:Position Summary:Evaluates, monitors and assists customers enrolled in department programs. Maintains accurate record keeping for the programs. Presents a positive image for both departments to patients, hospital staff and physicians, and the general public. Position Reports To: Rehab Services ManagerResponsibilities:Essential Functions:
  • Maintains records of patient census.
    • Records daily attendance statistics accurately.
    • Enters daily charges for patient visits on a regular basis.
    • Validates accuracy of statistics by comparing current records with fiscal reports on a regular basis.
    • Tabulates monthly patient attendance census.
    • Records patient statistics at time of discharge.
  • Screens calls and referrals from potential rehabilitation candidates, disseminates program information and schedules admission appointments as requested.
    • Maintains accurate records of potential program candidates.
    • Records initial admission data, including patient’s address, diagnosis, attending physician, and insurance company.
    • Supplies pertinent information regarding program content and requirements for program participation to program candidates.
    • Responds to potential patient inquiries regarding the program and provides information regarding steps to take for program admission.
    • Sets up appointments for new patients.
    • Represents the department to the general public by screening calls and answering questions about the rehabilitation programs.
  • Operates a variety of computer and office equipment effectively.
  • Maintains supplies and inventory for the department.
    • Checks oxygen tanks and refills when necessary.
    • Checks patient supplies, such as telemetry batteries, electrodes, pouches, etc. weekly and orders when necessary.
    • Utilizes purchasing request processes to order supplies at the manager’s request accurately and efficiently.
  • RT or RN: Evaluates, monitors and assists customers enrolled in department programs. Maintains accurate record keeping for the programs. Presents a positive image for both departments to patients, hospital staff and physicians, and the general public.
  • Required to maintain active Basic Life Support (CPR) certification.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Demonstrate Standards of Behavior and adhere to the Code of Conduct in all aspects of job performance at all times.Qualifications:Required:
  • Respiratory Therapist or Registered Nurse license.
  • Must be a graduate of an approved school of respiratory care or nursing.
  • BLS for Healthcare Providers.
  • ACLS
  • Must possess basic computer skills related to Windows navigation, mouse usage, accurate keyboarding, email communication and password management.
  • Must know and understand cardio/pulmonary pathophysiology, related diseases, therapy and equipment.

Desired:
  • Two years in an accredited Cardiac Rehabilitation program.
Physical/Sensory Demands: O = Occasional, represents 1 to 25% or up to 30 minutes in a 2 hour workday. F = Frequent, represents 26 to 50% or up to 1 hour of a 2 hour workday. C = Continuous, represents 51% to 100% or up to 2 hours of a 2 hour workday.
