Providence Health is currently looking for an experienced, dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to support the Emergency Room at their Northeast Campus. This is a night shift position with rotating weekends.
The Emergency Room Registered Nurse is responsible for performing plan of care intervention for patients as they enter the Emergency Room. This will include prioritizing care based on critical nature and severity of the patient’s condition and working as an advocate for the well-being of the patient. It is also key that the Registered Nurse be able to communicate with the different emergency room shifts and other units for continuity of care.
Essential Functions of an Emergency Room Registered Nurse:
Assesses Emergency Room patient's status
Ensures that Emergency Room care is delivered to assigned patients in accordance with medical orders and nursing standards and is documented in clinical records and on plans of care
Plans care collaboratively with family/patient, physicians and other healthcare team members
Interprets clinical findings and correlates with patient's condition. Identifies patient/family responses to treatment and continually evaluates effectiveness of care
Consults with physicians regularly regarding patient progress and collaborate with the medical staff on the appropriateness of daily and routine orders
Facilitates the smooth transition when a patient is transferred from the Emergency Room to another unit/facility
Preferred Experience of the Emergency Room Registered Nurse:
At least 1 year of nursing experience in an Emergency Room setting
Education of the Emergency Room Registered Nurse:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Required Licensure/Certifications of the Emergency Room Registered Nurse:
Current South Carolina Registered Nurse licensure
Current BLS upon hire
ACLS/PALS required within 90 days of hire or unit-transfer
