Job Description:

JOB DUTIES– Assessment and identification of patient needs and implementation of appropriate interventions considering the needs of patient populations per department scope of service. Delegation of nursing care activities and provisions of supervision; establishes and maintains a plan for the delivery of nursing care; assures that nursing care interventions and activities are directed to resolve problems; and performs technical aspects of care competently. Has access to medication storage areas as required for job tasks. Follows Hospital and Departmental Policies and Procedures. Professional Practice is based on the theoretical framework of nursing at Baptist Health Paducah including principles of Relationship-Based Care, the American Nurses Association (ANA) Standards of Professional Practice, and the Kentucky Nurse Practice Act.

QUALIFICATIONS AND ACCOUNTABILITY – Current RN licensure recognized by the Kentucky State Board of Nursing is required. Supervised by Department Director of the unit and Charge Nurse of shift worked. When working as Charge Nurse, is responsible for supervision of all other employees assigned to unit during shift. Director, charge nurse, self, and/or peer review performance evaluations are conducted at the end of the three-month probationary period and annually thereafter.
