As an integral part of the multidisciplinary team, the Registered Nurse (RN) utilizes the nursing process and their clinical knowledge to provide therapeutic care to patients and their families participating in radiation therapy in an outpatient setting. The RN is responsible for assessing patient needs, managing side effects, instituting preventative measures with a strong emphasis on patient education throughout all levels of radiation treatment and recovery.
The Radiation Oncology RN will be hired for the satellite radiation oncology location and may be asked to help at any of the satellites if needed.
Minimum Education: • Eligibility, as defined by the California Board of Nursing, to have and maintain an RN license. • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required Preferred: • Master’s Degree in Nursing may be in lieu-of bachelor’s degree Minimum Experience/Knowledge: • One year of nursing experience is required. Preferred: • One year of oncology nursing experience. • Two-year experience working in a radiation oncology department. • Bilingual is highly desirable. Required License/Certification: • Current California Registered Nursing license. • Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider card from the American Heart Association. Preferred: • ONS Radiation Oncology Certification
