Job Title: RN Clinical Coordinator, Cardiac Rehabilitation

Position Summary: Oversees and monitors the day-to-day activities of the Cardiac Rehabilitation Department.

Requirements:

Education: Graduate from an accredited RN program. BSN preferred.

Skills: Good interpersonal/communication skills and good time management.

Experience: 24-36 months of recent and relevant RN experience with at least 6 months cardiology background.

Certification/License: Current NJ Registered Nurse licensure. Current CPR and ACLS certification.

Essential Functions of the Job:

  • Oversees and coordinates services of the Cardiac Rehabilitation Department.
  • Work along with Medical director to develops, implements, and reviews program protocols, standing orders, policies and procedures.
  • Work along with Medical director to develops admissions process, exercise guidelines, emergency protocols, staffing patterns and record keeping routines.
  • Work along with staff to select, maintain, calibrate and repair equipment.
  • Develops and implements participant orientation, education, exercise, risk factor modification and counseling. Maintains confidential, appropriate participant records in accordance with accepted standards, i.e., JCAHO, Medicare.
  • Conducts team conferences in conjunction with the Medical Director for reviewing and reporting participant progress and problems.
  • Communicates regularly with participant’s primary physicians and the Medical Director regarding progress, problems and plan of care.
  • Communicates regularly to the surrounding community increasing awareness of the prevention and treatment of heart disease.
  • Evaluates program effectiveness by developing and implementing ongoing Quality Improvement monitors. Prepares productivity assessments.
  • Coordinates and monitors day-to-day operations and functions of the Cardiac rehabilitation Staff in a fair and consistent manner.
  • Effectively recruits and supervises the Cardiac Rehabilitation staff. Ensures that criteria-based performance evaluations are completed in a timely basis according to Hospital policy. Conducts progressive discipline in a timely appropriate manner according to Hospital policy.
  • Maintains effective communication with assigned staff members to provide for effective problem solving resolution.
  • Trains department staff according to Hospital policy. Validates job proficiency on an annual basis. Maintains complete department training records.
  • Ensures staff attendance at mandatory education seminars. Verifies their understanding of fire, safety and infection control guidelines.
  • Maintains a safe working environment.
  • Develops and implements staff development programs for continued enrichment of the staff and the program.
